Make It, Own It, Love It - Book & Fabric Giveaway!

I am very excited to be reviewing and giving away a copy of this fab new sewing book by Matt Chapple - Winner of the BBC's 'Great British Sewing Bee'. I love the Sewing Bee and watch avidly so its great to see what the contestants do next.....

Make it, Own it, Love it is a great book that is perfect for both novice and more experienced sewers. Matt goes over the tool kit you will need to get started, writes about getting to know your machine, different types of fabric and stitches as well as a chapter on patterns and measurements.

There are really useful chapters on altering clothes, taking up hems etc (which people are always asking me to do!)

Later chapters are great for those with more experience as Matt covers making clothes including bow ties, a blouse, scarf, skirts, a dress, and pyjama bottoms. The book also has a useful chapter on maintaining and repairing clothes.

Its a fab, very practical book with some great projects for men too. Nice to have a male perspective on sewing for a change!

Make It, Own It, Love It by Matt Chapple is published by Jacqui Small. You can buy it on  Amazon here
One of my lovely blog readers has a chance to win a copy of the book along with a metre of fabric of your choice from the Sew Scrumptious website. Just leave a comment below telling me which fabric you would choose and I will pick a winner on Sunday 13th November 2016.
Happy choosing!

  13. Despite being a very novice sewer it would have to be the Michael Miller cat and dog border print. I hope it would be a good choice to make a stunning skirt for my 8 year old who adores cats. It is likely I will need to beg for help from my 14 year old who is as much better sewer than me if there is nothing like it in Matts book!!!
